BIOGRAPHY
月乃カエル（Tsukino Kaeru）は、東京都生まれの現代美術作家。
長年システムエンジニアとしてIT企業に勤務した後、2014年頃より3Dアート作家として活動を開始し、2019年頃から本格的に制作に注力している。
オリジナルのデジタルイラストをベースに、透明樹脂や金属、ラメ、ラインストーンなどの異素材を重ねた、階層的なミクストメディア作品を制作。
色彩豊かでポップ、どこかノスタルジックな世界観を特徴とし、ポスト・デジタル以降の日本的ネオ・ポップとして、感覚や記憶に静かに働きかける表現を展開している。
Tsukino Kaeru is a contemporary artist born in Tokyo, Japan. After a long career as a system engineer in the IT industry, he began working as a 3D artist around 2014 and has focused fully on his art practice since 2019. Using original digital illustrations as a foundation, he creates layered mixed-media works incorporating transparent resin and materials such as metal, glitter, and rhinestones. His works are characterized by vibrant, pop colors with a subtle sense of nostalgia, and are positioned within a post-digital Japanese neo-pop context that gently engages memory, perception, and sensory experience.
Statement
月乃カエルは、デジタルイラストを起点に、透明樹脂や異素材を物理的に重ねることで、多層的な視覚と感覚の体験を生み出す作品を制作しています。
デジタルとアナログ、平面と立体、現実と空想といった相反する要素を融合させながら、ひとつの視点では捉えきれない曖昧で豊かな世界を立ち上げていきます。
作品における「層」は、単なる視覚効果ではなく、記憶や感情、時間の重なりを象徴するものです。
色彩や素材の重なりは、幼少期の記憶や言葉になる前の感覚の断片を呼び起こし、鑑賞者それぞれの内面と静かに共鳴する空間をつくり出します。
作家名としての「カエル」は、水と陸という異なる世界を行き来する存在に由来しています。
それは、現実と想像、内面と外界、過去と現在といった境界を自由に往還する視点であり、私自身の制作における立ち位置そのものです。
「月乃カエル」という名前は、異なる領域をつなぎ、重ね、響き合わせる媒介となる存在でありたいという思いを示しています。
月乃カエルの作品は、社会批評やアイロニーを前面に押し出すのではなく、感覚や記憶といった普遍的な領域に立ち返ることで、世界を肯定的に捉え直そうとする試みです。
明確な答えや物語を提示するのではなく、鑑賞者がそれぞれの経験や感情を重ねるための「余白」を大切にしています。
変化と多様性に満ちた現代において、私は層を重ね、異なる要素を響き合わせることで、やさしく、明るく、少し不思議な未来の風景を描き続けていきたいと考えています。
My artistic practice begins with digital illustration and expands into the creation of layered works through the physical accumulation of transparent resin and diverse materials.
By integrating elements that are often perceived as oppositional—digital and analog, flatness and volume, reality and imagination—I seek to construct rich and ambiguous spaces that cannot be captured from a single viewpoint.
The layers within my work are not merely visual effects; they function as metaphors for the accumulation of memory, emotion, and time.
Through the overlapping of color and material, fragments of childhood memories and pre-linguistic sensations emerge, forming spaces that quietly resonate with the inner worlds of viewers.
The name “Kaeru,” which I use as my artist name, is derived from a being that moves freely between water and land—between different realms.
It represents a perspective that traverses boundaries: between reality and imagination, inner and outer worlds, past and present.
“Kaeru Tsukino” thus signifies a mediating presence, one that connects, overlaps, and harmonizes disparate domains, reflecting my own position within the act of creation.
Rather than foregrounding social critique or irony, my work returns to universal realms of sensation and memory, seeking to reaffirm the world through sensory experience.
I do not present fixed answers or narratives; instead, I value the presence of openness—spaces in which viewers are free to project their own experiences and emotions.
In a contemporary world defined by constant change and diversity, I continue to layer elements and allow differences to resonate with one another, aspiring to depict visions of the future that are gentle, luminous, and quietly wondrous.
